Merino wool smooth ankle socks with untucked sleeve.

Merino wool, smooth ankle socks with an untightened seam. Vire socks have a thermal rating of 3, which means they are very warm despite their thin construction. Vire socks are made with a more elastic and looser knit on the shank, which gives them a non-tight feel on the foot.

Non-tensioned socks are best suited to people with swollen feet who often find regular socks too tight around the ankle and calf. The socks are ideal for everyday use, both for everyday and formal wear.

Merino wool makes the socks highly breathable and helps keep feet dry despite occasional sweating. Merino wool is also naturally antibacterial, meaning the socks stay fresh for longer as the main material repels unwanted odours. Polyamide has been added to the socks to give them greater wear resistance.

The thin Vire socks are suitable for almost all footwear from tennis shoes to loafers and winter shoes. For heavier footwear, we recommend a thicker sock.

This product is also made at Sukkamestarei's own factory in Ylöjärvi with 100% Finnish labour.

Care instructions:

we recommend pre-washing merino wool socks before use
for marine socks, airing is often sufficient
careful washing at a maximum temperature of 40 degrees Celsius
use as light a spin as possible
the use of a wash bag saves wear and tear on the product
do not use detergents containing rinsing agents or bleaching agents
do not use a tumble dryer or drying programmes
please note that merino wool socks will shrink in the wash, please shape/stretch the socks while damp to restore the original size
use a lint remover - merino wool socks are easily linted by rubbing

Wool is a warm and breathable material. Sheep's wool has excellent performance characteristics, as it breathes and insulates heat well. Self-renewing and biodegradable, natural fibre absorbs moisture well, does not wrinkle and straightens quickly. For wool products, airing rather than washing is sometimes sufficient. Wool is inherently fire-retardant, highly resistant to bacteria and mould.
